Course Description

Do you use Google, Netflix, Siri, ChatBots, Social Media? Artificial Intelligence (AI) is everywhere and often we don’t even realise we are using it, particularly at work. To recognise and attain organisational value from AI we must understand human-AI interactions.

In this course you will discover how AI technologies are transforming work and organisational behaviour. You will study both the challenges and opportunities of AI in the workplace and its impact on leadership and human resource management (HRM) practices such as talent acquisition, team dynamics and performance management. The course will also cover the ethical and social implications of AI adoption and explore strategies for effective integration of AI into the workplace.

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

CLO1: Critically evaluate the literature discussing the impact of AI on HRM and leadership practices.

CLO2: Develop strategies for continuous learning and skills development to drive AI capability.

CLO3: Demonstrate high level personal and interpersonal people skills, including collaboration and communication.

CLO4: Synthesise and apply theoretical principles and frameworks to evaluate the use and evolution of AI systems and develop strategies for AI adoption to create organisationally and employee-valued outcomes


Overview of Learning Activities

In this course you will be encouraged to be an active and collaborative learner. Your learning will be supported through various in-class and online activities. Authentic and industry-relevant learning is critical to this course and you will be encouraged to critically compare and contrast what is happening in your context and in industry, and to use your insights. Social learning is another important component and you are expected to participate in class and group activities, share resources, and give and receive peer feedback. You will be expected to work efficiently and effectively with others to achieve outcomes greater than those that you might have achieved alone.
