Course Description
This course seeks to assist managers to become intelligent analysts of and effective responders to the unique opportunities presented by the Malaysian business environment.
Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development
This course is based on the belief that Malaysian managers need to be sensitive to the rapidly changing local environment to be able to act effectively as managers. Managers need to develop entrepreneurial skills to be able to identify and exploit opportunity. The challenges arising from a complex local business environment will be analysed and the practicalities of effective business response explored. The focus is on business growth rather than survival.
At the end of this course students are expected to be able to:-
• Scan and analyse the local business environment;
• Identify short and long term business opportunities;
• Identify the critical success factors for business in Malaysia;
• Understand the characteristics of entrepreneurial behaviour;
• Engage in effective business planning.
