Pre-requisite Courses and Assumed Knowledge and Capabilities
The Minor Project can only be taken in the final semester of the Master of Engineering program. It will draw extensively on material learned in the prior coursework component. You will choose a topic in yourarea of interest/expertise either as part of a large project or an independent project and will work under the guidance of an individual supervisor.
Course Description
This course provides an opportunity for you to perform an individual piece of project work, usually as part of a larger project.

In this course you will perform an individual piece of project work, usually as part of a larger project.
As a result of this course, you will be able to:
•Provide a critical assessment of relevant literature/technologies;
•Conduct an independent work either alone or as part of a large project;
•Improve skills in technical writing to provide a satisfactory report and presentation.
Overview of Learning Activities
The project is a focused piece of work and usually involves designing and building a circuit, simulation model, application software/hardware or a specified device. A project is usually defined within the framework of a larger project and your contribution will be used as input to the outcomes of the larger project. A report is required and is marked by your supervisor. The report should demonstrate your independent work, clear indication of your ability to undertake inquiry and adequate skills in technical writing and presentation.

Overview of Assessment
You are expected to submit a fortnightly monitoring report signed by your supervisor. You will present a seminar on your project, and attend the seminars given by other project students. You will submit a final report on your project.
