Students undertaking this course must have successfully completed Research Thesis 1 (BESC 1108/1109)


Course Description

This course consists of two components: (1)  Presentation of the research project proposal and the research project results; and (2) A written thesis in the form of a journal article.


Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development

Students will learn the skills of giving a conference-style presentation.  Students will also learn the skills of carrying out a piece of scientific research in psychology by directly engaging in the research process.


At the conclusion of this course, students will be expected to be able to:
1. Prepare and present a research proposal.
2. Prepare and present the results of a research project .
3. Collect, record, and analyse their research data using appropriate data analysis methods.
4. Present the results of their research in the form of a scholarly journal article


Overview of Learning Activities

Under the guidance of their research supervsior, the student will build on the skills learnt in Research Thesis 1 by further engaging in the research process in a way that mimics the real-world research process as much a possible.
