Course Description

Engineers Australia requires that while studying for their Bachelor of Engineering programs, and as a condition for graduation, students should have experienced at least twelve weeks of full-time employment (or equivalent 432 hours of part-time employment) which must be:

1) in a technical field relevant to their study programs, and

2) under the supervision of a qualified engineer i.e. a person who meets the requirements for corporate membership of Engineers Australia, or an equivalent body in other countries.

This course provides a means for you to satisfy Engineers Australia’s requirement.

At the completion of your vacation work, you should get your employer to complete the Certificate of Employment form.
If you work in more than one job, you should get one Certificate of Employment per employer.

Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development

You should have demonstrated satisfactory job performance and personal conduct in your work place.

The objective is for you to gain real-world work experience.

The experience may include technical, business and personal skills, health and safety risks identification and prevention, and equal opportunity issues at the work place.

Overview of Learning Activities

Learning activities are based on off-campus technical employment under the supervision of a qualified engineer.

The soft copy of the standard Certiificate of Employment form (for your employer to complete) can be downloaded from EEET2269 Blackboard.

Overview of Assessment
