Course Description

This course will provide you with an introduction to corporations law and the duties of directors and managers. Managers need to understand their responsibilities to their company, shareholders, employees, customers, and society, and the types of rules that they should consider to appropriately regulate a company. Managers also need to be aware of the ways that external bodies regulate companies, and how to apply ethical standards to their role.

Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to:

• Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of personal, professional and organisational ethics and links to decision making;
• Identify and be able to apply the principles of good corporate governance;
• Identify the legal components of corporate social responsibility;
• Analyse and correctly interpret laws relating to corporate governance; 
• Demonstrat an understanding of what constitutes an effective corporate code of conduct;
• Identify social and environmental implications of business decisions and practices.
