Course Description

This course is an introduction to the principles and industry standards of digital video, focusing on how digital video technologies are used to create and deliver content across multi- platform applications. You will explore digital video production practice, and investigate how to integrate digital video technologies into systems that align with project requirements.

Upon the successful completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Apply theory and technical skills to capture and produce high quality digital video.
  • Discuss and apply industry standards in digital media to implement integrated audio-visual systems.
  • Investigate and assess the most appropriate technology for the development of digital video productions.
  • Produce media that can be distributed across a broad range of platforms in collaboration with others.

Overview of Assessment

You will be assessed on your compliance to course learning outcomes and development measured against the program learning outcomes. Assessment will be comprised of assignments, which include critique and presentations in groups.

Assessment will be comprised of practical and theoretical aspects of your learning and feedback be given for all assessable items.

Assessment Task 1

“Design Motion 1” (20%).

This assessment will cover the following:

  • Demonstrate creativity, critical thinking and innovation when identifying and solving problems in diverse contexts within the discipline.

 

 

Assessment Task 2

This assessment will cover the following:
