Learning Outcomes
1. Perform common building and construction calculations using fractions and decimals.
2. Perform common building and construction calculations using ratios, proportion and percentage.
3. Calculate perimeters, areas and volumes applicable to the building and construction industry.
4. Identify and convert SI measuring units used in the building and construction industry.
5. Determine quantities or costs of materials commonly used in the building and construction industry.
Overview of Assessment
Assessment may incorporate a variety of methods including written/oral activities and demonstration of practical skills to the relevant industry standards.
Participants are advised that they are likely to be asked to personally demonstrate their assessment activities to their teacher/assessor. Feedback will be provided throughout the course.
