Course Description

The purpose of this module is to provide the participant with the knowledge and skills necessary to cut, fold, join and seal various metals and metal forms using appropriate techniques.

Pre-requisite Courses and Assumed Knowledge and Capabilities

Pre-requisites:
VBM988 Workplace safety and environmental procedures

Co-requisites:
It is strongly recommended that this module be delivered in conjunction with the following modules to provide realistic, practical tasks for this application:
• VBN234 Calculations for the building industry
• VBN989 Technical drawing and plan development for plumbing.

Overview of Assessment

Assessment may incorporate a variety of methods including written/oral activities and demonstration of practical skills to the relevant industry standards.
Participants are advised that they are likely to be asked to personally demonstrate their assessment activities to their teacher/assessor.  Feedback will be provided throughout the course.
