Learning Outcomes
In this unit students will develop knowledge and skills associated with planning and organising for safe and effective use of custom footwear construction technology and operations. This unit also requires an ability to check the quality of outcomes and identify and address problems relating to own work. Initiative and enterprise and problem solving will be used to combine a range of materials and processes to achieve desired design outcomes.
Details of Learning Activities
The course is integrated with LMTFP4002B Custom made Footwear Patterns, LMTFP4004B Assemble custom made Shoe, LMTFP4005B Fit Custom made footwear LMTFP2010B Repair Footwear Product, LMTGN2004B Work in a Team Environment and LMTGN3002B Organise and Plan own Work to form a cluster or learning program in the total development of a pair of custom-made shoes. In this course you will be involved in theoretical and practical tasks.
• You will be required to undertake research outside of regular class times.
You will integrate skills across the design process & manufacturing process of custom-made shoes. With a focus on the use and experimentation of design & development processes which will result in the production of a pair of custom-made shoes.
Teaching Schedule
Week 1 to 15
Student to:-
• Produce one pair of shoes
• Investigate and research design and production requirements including materials to be used. Finalise design and make requirements.
• Produce and check patterns for shoes.
• Produce prototype of shoes.
• Fit shoes as required.
• Amend and adjust as required.
Week 16
• Present finished shoes for submission and handover.
• Student feedback and presentation of finished shoes at School of fashion & Textiles End of Year Exhibition.

Overview of Assessment
Tasks that have not be authenticated in class as the student’s own work will not be considered for assessment. Regular attendance is necessary. Assessment will consist of both theory and practical based exercises, predominantly in class but some out of class research and information formatting may be required as well.
