Course Description
This unit describes the skills required to manage personal professional performance and to take responsibility for own professional development. It requires knowledge of the translation and interpreting industry and relevant professional development opportunities. The unit applies to established translators and interpreters seeking to enhance their career and professional development.
This unit will be delivered in a cluster as follows:

Learning Outcomes
Overview of Assessment
Assessment will be ongoing during the semester, and you will receive feedback on your progress. You will undertake a variety of assessment tasks and activities to assess your level of competence against key elements and performance criteria.
The assessment tasks/activities may include, but are not limited to:
- Role plays
- Observation checklists
- Teacher directed group activities
- Individual/group research activities within the T&I industry and/or relevant domains to the professional practice such as courts, hospitals, trade expos etc.
- Evidence demonstrating application of codes and standards
- Practical demonstration of understanding and application of codes and standards in selected scenarios and simulated activities
