Year One of Program

Academic integrity

"Academic integrity means acting with the values of honesty, trust, fairness, respect and responsibility in learning, teaching and research." In practical terms, it means developing, and submitting for assessment, your own academic work.

The repercussions for breaking the rules – even accidentally – are serious, from failing an assessment to charges of academic misconduct and exclusion from a program.

Please read the Introduction to Academic Integrity Tutorial and complete the Academic Integrity Awareness Digital Credential before you begin your program.

2024 Semester 1 Commencing Students

Please enrol into the following courses:

Semester 1, 2024

  • PHYS2167 Radiation Physics and Laboratory
  • PHYS2134 Advanced Medical Imaging
  • PHYS2139 Radiotherapy Physics and Modelling
  • COSC2752 Programming Fundamentals for Scientists

Semester 2, 2024

  • PHYS2136 Radiation Physics and Radiation Protection
  • MEDS2149 Introduction to the Principles and Practice of Radiotherapy Treatment Planning
  • BIOL1070 Research Methods
  • Choose One: COSC2670 Practical Data Science with Python OR MATH2270 Data Visualisation and Communication

BIOL1070/BIOL2411 Research Methods is offered in both semesters and must be completed in your 1st year.

Option courses: Most students should choose COSC2670 Practical data Science with Python. Students who already have significant experience in Python, should choose MATH2270 Data Visualisation and Communication. Completing COSC2670 in your first year will provide the most project choices in Year 2.

If you believe you should take anything other than the standard enrolments, please consult with the Program Manager Prof. Rick Franich.
