Purpose of the Program

In the program Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) you will develop the knowledge and skills required of professionally qualified accountants. The broad curriculum in the program covers accounting, finance, economics, marketing, management, with the focus on professional training in accounting as a social practice. The program develops the knowledge and skills valued by employers and which you require to operate successfully in a contemporary business environment.

In the final year of the program the capstone course ACCT1029 Strategic Accounting and Leadership will give you the opportunity to critically reflect on and consolidate what you have learnt. This capstone experience enables you to critically reflect on and consolidate your theoretical and practical learning in this program, and promotes work readiness or entry into graduate studies for further learning.

This program will prepare you to work as a professional accountant in diverse organisations. This program is available for on-campus study only.

Articulation and pathways

You may gain entry into this program from a:	Three (3) Year Non-Business Diploma
If selected you may get credit for:	Eight (8) courses (96 credit points) equivalent to two (2) full-time semesters or one (1) full-time year
The courses for which you may get credit are:	Business Minor (four [4)] courses from the same discipline AND Four (4) Electives (courses from any discipline)

 

You may gain entry into this program from a:	Three (3) year Business Diploma
If selected you may get credit for:	Twelve (12) courses (144 credit points) equivalent to three (3) full-time semesters or 1.5 full-time years
The courses for which you may get credit are:	A combination of Business Core and Flexible courses

Entrance requirements

Semester 1 2023 is the final intake for BP254OSSG Bachelor of Business (Accountancy)

The Academic entry criteria for the program are as follows:

(a) A completed secondary education in Singapore and has achieved:

• 3 GCE 'A' Level passes; or
• Completed a minimum of 3 H2 level subjects with a pass or above.

OR

(b) Where an applicant does not have a Singaporean secondary qualification, they must meet the RMIT University criteria for their respective country of secondary education study as approved by RMIT, and notified to SIM by RMIT - as listed on the RMIT website under entry requirements by country - https://www.rmit.edu.au/study-with-us/international-students/apply-to-rmit-international-students/entry-requirements

Admission by international students is also subject to the approval of the student pass by the Singapore Government.

OR

(c) An approved Business diploma from a recognised Singaporean Polytechnic where the language of instruction is English.

OR

(d) The Diploma in Management Studies from SIMPL.

OR

(e) An approved non-Business diploma from a recognised Singaporean Polytechnic where the language of instruction is English.

OR

(f) Any other equivalent qualifications or combination of qualifications and experience as assessed by RMIT University on a case-by-case basis.

The English language entry criteria for the programs are:

Applicants who have not obtained a minimum of C or C6 in General Paper (AO/H1 Level) or Knowledge and Inquiry (H2) must provide evidence of at least ONE of the following:

IELTS - Total of 6.5 (with no band less than 6.0);

TOEFL - Paper-Based (PBT) = 580 (TWE 4.5);

TOEFL - internet-Based (iBT) = Overall score of 92, with a minimum 20 in all sections;

Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE(A) = 58 (no bank less than 50);

Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) = CAE Grade B (no band less than Good);

Successful completion of a recognised approved Diploma qualification or higher as where the language of instruction was English;

Student expenses and charges in addition to fees

Once you are enrolled as a student in this program you will need to allow for expenses other than university tuition fees.  Additional expenses may relate to the purchase of lecture notes, textbooks, stationery, consumables such as printer paper, fees levied by commercial internet service providers for internet access outside of the university campus, and other relevant costs.
