Approach to learning and assessment

The program combines on the job training in the workplace, online interactive learning using Collaborate Ultra via the Student Learning Management System, Canvas, and practical activities at the Royal Dental Hospital Melbourne in Carlton. The educators from RMIT University liaise closely with your workplace supervisors and facilitate training that meets your individual learning needs.

All learning and assessment materials are provided on an individual online Canvas site for each of your courses and can be accessed remotely at any time. Assessments are submitted via Canvas where you will also find your teacher's feedback for you to refer to.

Assessments comprise a combination of knowledge tests, case studies, assignments and practical observations. During your studies you will also need to complete two workplace assessments conducted at your workplace by an RMIT teacher.

  • complete these activities in real work contexts or situations

In addition: these interactions and the work contexts provide distinctive sources of feedback to you to assist your learning.
