Objectives of the program

The RMIT University MBA (Exec) is designed to enhance graduate professional experience to enable you to fulfil an executive role within an organisation. Your learning experiences will equip you to strategically lead your organisation and to effectively negotiate a complex and competitive global context. Executive leadership requires well rounded, highly skilled individuals with inquiring and innovative minds to address organisational strategic challenges. The program emphasises the integration of your existing management experience with advanced business skills and knowledge.

Articulation and pathways

Advanced Standing
Applicants who have completed postgraduate business or management studies or have partially completed an MBA  (Executive)   at another institution can be accepted with some credits or exemptions being granted for the RMIT University Master of Business Administration. Applicants with an ICAA, CPA, or Chartered Secretaries qualification are eligible for up to four course credits. Credit transfer from other postgraduate programs and recognition of other professional qualifications will be reviewed on a case by case basis, however, applicants should note that only relevant business postgraduate qualifications are normally considered for credit transfer. These must be equivalent to RMIT University’s MBA  (Executive)   course content, structure and credit point values. All applicants should undertake the normal application process. Credits and exemptions will be assessed consistent with the principles of the RMIT University’s Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer Policy.

Entrance requirements

A Bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognised tertiary institution and evidence of significant relevant work experience at management level (i.e.  full-time, post-graduation relevant work experience is required). The work experience criterion is an essential prerequisite for the program. Special entry may be granted to applicants who do not possess the basic entrance qualifications but who can demonstrate through previous study, professional development and/or professional work experience (8-10 years) their capacity to successfully undertake this program.


International Students

English Language:-

  • IELTS – 6.5 (no band less than 6.0)
  • TOEFL Paper based – 580+ (TWE 4.5+)
  • TOEFL Computer based - 237+ (TWE4.5+)
  • RMIT English Worldwide (REW) – Advanced level 2

Or

1. Evidence that the applicants have been employed in an English speaking business environment for at least a three year period;

2. A statement outlining the applicants’ employment history, including his/her position title and length of service; and

3. Evidence of his/her English communication skills, for example, written reports.

Student expenses and charges in addition to fees

Once you are enrolled as a student in this program you will need to allow for expenses other than university tuition fees.  Additional expenses may relate to the purchase of lecture notes, textbooks, stationery, consumables such as printer paper, fees levied by commercial internet service providers for internet access outside of the university campus, and other relevant costs.
