Program Learning Outcomes Statement

The Master of Fashion (Design) will assist you in becoming a highly developed fashion designer with the potential and knowledge to succeed in the global market.

As a graduate of this program you will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate extensive, advanced and specialised knowledge of fashion design its related disciplines and emerging global markets
  2. Develop critical and ethical design strategies to practice and communicate your advanced knowledge of fashion in a global context
  3. Determine and apply the specialist knowledge and technical skills required to creatively solve problems, demonstrating independent expert judgment and ethical responsibility relating to your professional practice in broader fashion systems
  4. Critically analyse, synthesise and reflect on socio political dimensions and concerns in broader fashion systems to extend and challenge knowledge and practice in fashion design
  5. Professionally communicate design and creative propositions, processes and outcomes to address specialist and non-specialist audiences
  6. Provide design leadership to effectively plan and manage the implementation of new directions and strategies within the local, national and global fashion industry as well as effectively collaborate with others
  7. Implement research methods and design strategies to design and execute substantial projects, evaluate the outcomes and contribute to the fashion profession and the field of knowledge in the discipline
  8. Master a body of knowledge and specific technical and research skills to progress your professional career within the contemporary field of fashion
