Course Description

This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance

Learning Outcomes

The leaner will have  demonstrated competancy in the essential knowledge and skills required to effectively do the task outlined in elements and performance criteria of this unit, manage the task and manage contingencies in the context of the identified work role, This includes knowledge of: • ARC Guidelines relating to provision of first aid as outlined. First aid management  outlined with in this unit.


Overview of Assessment

The assessment will take place within a simulated environment and must satisffy the expected requirements for a practical event preforming CPR - using the DRSABC process. The leaner will need to complete a written questionair with a satisfactory pass.
