Course Description

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to maintain the training and assessment information requirements of the organisation and other relevant bodies, including the timely dissemination of accurate information to learners on training and assessment services and the recording and reporting of training and assessment service data.

Performance Criteria:

1.1. Provide potential learners with relevant information about the range of training and assessment services provided by the training and/or assessment organisation
1.2. Explain specific program content and assessment requirements to learners in a clear and concise manner
1.3. Confirm training schedule with relevant personnel and disseminate to learners
1.4. Access, provide and explain relevant organisational policies and procedures relating to training and/or assessment services to learners according to organisational and legal requirements

2.1. Collect, verify and record personal learner information on learner records management system
2.2. Collect, verify and record details of the specific learning strategy and learning program on the learner records management system
2.3. Confirm and record relevant additional requirements
2.4. Confirm and record learner progress and assessment outcomes in a timely manner
2.5. Organise certification processes according to national reporting requirements, where appropriate
2.6. Address custody and management requirements of training and/or assessment information and records

Performance Criteria:

3.1. Complete and forward final results to appropriate personnel for signature, using systems to support reporting
3.2. Finalise, check and provide data for national reporting purposes to appropriate personnel for signature
3.3. Identify, document and address issues and irregularities in recording and reporting activities in a timely and effective manner
3.4. Refer issues and irregularities outside area of responsibility or expertise to appropriate personnel for resolution, if relevant
3.5. Finalise certification arrangements, send to learners and store copies according to organisational and legal requirements, where appropriate

Details of Learning Activities

This program is designed to provide an assessment only pathway for our industry partners in the Community Services workforce. It does not provide learning activities, but rather individual support as required for candidates through the assessment process.


Teaching Schedule

There is no teaching schedule as this is an assessment only program. Candidates enter the program at times negotiated with the employer and the candidate.

On enrolment you will be provided with either the hard copy or electronic copy of the Candidate Guide which further outlines the Program, and the knowledge questions and case study format to guide your evidence-gathering for assessment.
The assessor will meet with you and discuss your experience and assist you in planning how your individual pathway will progress, incorporating particular support or guidance you may require.
 


Overview of Assessment

Assessment in this unit of competency is determined via a combination of assessment strategies which may include :

responses to knowledge and skill questions based on the candidate’s experience

discussion of the candidate’s experience and current practice

specific evidence-gathering tasks in the form of completed case studies

provision of evidence of qualifications

observation conducted in the workplace

professional conversation conducted face-to-face


Assessment Tasks

For this Unit you need to provide evidence of competence in providing initial and ongoing information and advice on training and assessment services, 
completing training and assessment records, and completing reporting requirements - in a VET context.


The assessor will discuss with you how your evidence can be assembled to show that you have met these requirements. You will be provided with a case study format to record your experience against the performance criteria. If you are seeking recognition for more than this single unit the case study may also integrate the requirements of this unit with a number of other units in the qualification.You will also be provided with key knowledge questions to consider that will support your preparation for assessment in this unit.


The assessment timelines are negotiated between you and the assessor, however enrolments need to show an assessment result within RMIT reporting periods. Your assessor will provide you with details of this.
