This course is delivered and assessed in conjunction with GRAP5338 Illustration Techniques.

Course Description

In this course there will be an introduction to colour theory, and students will explore ways to integrate colour theory and design processes into two-dimensional work.

Formative Task 1: 7 Second Colour Video. Students will create a storyboard for 7 second video with a colour as the theme.

Formative Task 1: Video Storyboard

A short exercise on primary research, intro to colour theory and recording process. Week 1

Formative Task 2: Research Project

Researching contemporary and historuical approaches to colour. The final outcome wil generate a range of potential co,lour schemes for the Music Festival brief. Week 6

Summative Task 1: Emotional Colour

A poster demonstrating the communication of emotion through the use of colour schemes and qualities. Due week 11

Summative Task 2: Colour Folio

Reflection and justification of the use of colour for a range of projects. Due week 17
