Course Description

This module provides the learner with the basic principles of planning, scheduling and cost control for commercial buildings up to an effective height of 25m and industrial buildings.

Learning Outcomes

This course will provide the learner to develop knowledge & skills and able to:
• Prepare the Builder’s and Sub-contractors interim Payment Claims, and the calculations for rise & fall.
• Prepare a ’S’ curve for monitoring cash flow and resource control. Prepare, monitor and analyse the project cash flow for multiple residential construction.
• List and describe the principles and objectives of cost control. Define the terms used in cost control. Illustrate methods of reporting project cost control and interpreting reports.
• Organise the definitive cost estimate into cost centres for cost control reporting and planning. Compare the estimated cost with estimated risk levels for each cost centre.
• Identify statistics used in industry and identify sources of indices used for Rise and Fall calculations. Prepare simple rise and fall calculations from given formulae
