Course Description
In this course students develop skills in negotiating a brief, designing and making a contemporary item of furniture as a "One Off" for a client or for exhibition. This course is specifically designed to cater for the needs of designer-makers in developing prototypes.

Learning Outcomes
1. Apply interpersonal skills to negotiate with a client to design & construct a "One Off" piece of contemporary furniture.
2. Finalise the contract to design and make a "One off" piece of contemporary furniture for a client or for exhibition.
3. Conduct design development and construct a "One off" piece for a client.
4. Establishment of delivery, installation and after sales arrangements and conditions
5. Upon completion of construction and installation of a ‘one off’ item of contemporary furniture, evaluate the process.
