Course Description
This course deals with Data modelling and the emphasis is:
- To provide students with deeper knowledge of the development process for database modelling which includes the understanding of functional dependencies, ER diagrams and normal forms for complex scenarios.
The knowledge gained also encompasses an understanding of the requirements of a client, identifying target environment in relation to client requirements, validation of data model and feeding back the recommendations into modelling process.
Further a document is created to understand validation process and its outcome in its concise form.

Overview of Assessment
Assessment may incorporate a variety of methods including technical requirements documentation, homework and in class exercises, written tests, practical problem solving exercises and practical tests. Students are advised that they maybe be asked to personally demonstrate their assessment work to their teacher to ensure that the relevant competency standards are being met.
