Teaching Schedule
This first semester in DTP2 course further develops your skills in the operation of Quark Xpress, InDESIGN, Photoshop and Illustrator software packages through a series of involved multi-problem exercises.
The major assessment item will be outlined for you during the semester, and you should start preliminary work on it. This will take the form of your own corporate business package, created from your own source material as a promotional vehicle for your business.
The object of the semester is to achieve a professional-looking product which also displays your ability to desktop publish your work.
When completed, it will become a substantial item for your personal folio.
This second semester in the DTP 2 continues the operation of Quark Xpress, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, and InDesign software packages. The major assessment item will take the form of an originally written and produced “Publication“ on either A4 A3 or A5 size pages; your work should represent and use all of the tools that you have been exposed to, over the previous two years. You will examine balance, composition, distribution of graphic information, and the use of colour, as well as that of that of the programs used in this project.
The focus of your “Publication“ is entirely up to you.
The ultimate aim is for a professional-looking production of your work, with a content you wish to explore, but shall also display your ability to Desktop Publish your work in a professional industry manner.
