Course Description

This course provides students with the opportunity to provide a holistic response to the international trade process of sourcing and exporting a product in a global business environment.  Students will be accountable to a "real" client writing a Business Export Plan for the client.


Pre-requisite Courses and Assumed Knowledge and Capabilities

Although there are no listed pre-requisites, students need to have completed all courses in the Cert IV and Diploma to have the skills to complete this course.

Overview of Assessment

Students will be presented with a product to export from a “real” client. In groups students will prepare and present an export plan for the client. Student team meetings will be held in tutorial time – this is mandatory and will be monitored, minuted and marked. Seminar time will be focussed on presenting guest speakers and discussing major issues. Students will spend as much time outside the class researching as inside the classroom. Activities including guest speakers, site visits, and excursions will be held in class times. Students may be responsible for entry fee and transportation costs.

The project will give students the opportunity to but to develop your entrepreneurial skills, To understand the process of international trade (and that is where the majority of your time will be spent) and to give practical experience in exporting.
