Course Description
This course is about how to understand, navigate and manage change in organisations as they face complex, dynamic, and uncertain work environments. Learners in this course will develop understanding of theoretical and practical perspectives and will be exposed to experiences shaping their capabilities to navigate and manage organisational change. The activities in this course are designed for learners to apply knowledge of managing change to diverse industries and sectors. Particularly, learners will develop understanding of managing change through appreciation, analysis, and evaluation of (1) individual experiences of organisation change (2) organisational considerations in managing change, and (3) the impact of change outside organisation on what happens within organisations, including ethical and professional management of organisational change.

Learning outcomes
On completion of this course you will be able to:
CLO1. Explain how different theories and assumptions about change offer different, often conflicting, perspectives on managing change in organisations.
CLO2. Use appropriate data-gathering and analysis techniques to investigate experiences of change.
CLO3. Effectively frame and solve ‘real-world’ problems relating to organisational change.
CLO4. Evaluate the ethics and professionalism of management approaches and alternatives to implementing change
Overview of Learning Activities
The activities in this course are designed for learners to apply knowledge of managing change to diverse industries and sectors. Specifically, weekly activities comprises lectures, online forum discussions, tutorial workshops, qualitative interviewing skill training, and LMS interactive play based tasks. Students will be discussing issues related to the assessment task in class, sharing and evaluating resources and ideas, and working to frame their particular approach to the problem. However, students are required to reflect on and develop their own perspective, and submit their own individual, independent ideas.

Various learning resources are available online through MyRMIT Studies/Canvas. Class activities, recordings, notes and outcomes are posted on Canvas.
