Course Description

In this course you will explore the techniques and processes of retail logistics operations in a competitive retail and service environment, together with relevant applications to the tourism and hospitality industry.

This Course should enhance your professional abilities as a potential retail logistics manager or a service logistics manager of a retail, service, or tourism / hospitality organisation.

The Course will also provide opportunities for you to fine tune your skills in respect of team work and interpersonal communication skills through various tutorial activities.

Prior completion or companion enrolment of Introduction to Logistics and Supply Chain Management (OMGT1082/OMGT2221/OMGT2065/OMGT2085) is recommended.

In some areas the Course draws upon a number of logistics and supply chain management knowledge areas which are presented in Introduction to Logistics and Supply Chain Management (referred to above). Students not having successfully completed Introduction to Logistics and Supply Chain Management  should not be deterred from enrolling in Retail and Service Logistics (OMGT1044/OMGT2226) as the necessary information will be provided and / or referred to at the appropriate point in the latter.
