<font face="Times" size="2"><spacer type="horizontal" size="36"></spacer><font face="Times" size="2">Semester 6 GRAP 2190 Design Major 9 Specialisation 3</font>
</font>
<font face="Times" size="2"><font face="Times" size="2">A range of assigned projects that will present opportunities to research and discover the various techniques used to develop creative individual solutions based in work and image will follow. A student will graduate from this sequence with a sound knowledge of the depth and power that the appropriate use of type and image can give to Communication Design solutions in both print and electronic media. Typographic and image based assignments will complement each other to offer the student a diverse yet integrated experience: the emphasis being on visual experimentation and creative application grounded in contextual and production possibilities. Attention is paid to the traditions and principles of typography and image making and how these specialisations have translated to digital media where appropriate.</font></font>

<font face="Times" size="2">Tutorials/Workshops and One to One lecturer Consultations are the platforms whereby students put in to practice their knowledge by completing assigned projects. Discussions both formal and informal take place providing the opportunity for students to develop their knowledge through the practical application of the conventions and the digital programs.</font>

<font face="Times" size="2">The work will be assessed according to the following criteria:</font>
<font face="Times" size="2">Students can apply for an extension to a briefs deadline IN ADVANCE OF the deadline OR up to 48hr after the due date if illness or a situation beyond your control prevents you attending class to submit the work. Students who wish to apply can obtain an extension/special consideration form from the office. Students will be required to submit medical certificates or other evidence to gain the extension from the lecturer involved. At the time the extension is granted a new date and time will be agreed to between the lecturer and student. Work granted extension must be submitted to Iris Koh SIM Program Co-ordinator.
If a student requires special consideration regarding submission of folio this must be applied for in advance of the deadline OR up to 48hrs after the due date if illness or a situation beyond your control prevents you attending to submit a folio to your year level co-ordinator. Students will be required to submit medical certificates or other evidence to gain the extension from the student progress committee. At the time the special consideration is granted a new date and time will be agreed to between the Program Manager Bronwyn Clarke and Iris Koh SIM Program Co-ordinator and the student. It will be the responsibility of the student to submit the folio at the agreed time
and date.</font>
