Course Description
This course provides an opportunity to refine a complex, indeterminate aerospace system design, with the aim of resolving technical detail and integrating this within a credible conceptual design solution. The course is primarily project-based, with students working in design teams. A conceptual design for an aerospace system such as a fixed-wing aircraft, rotorcraft, spacecraft or unmanned aircraft system is provided. Technical activities are identified as being critical to the development and assessment of the conceptual design. Students then conduct these activities, which can be analytical, experimental or computational, and use the outcomes to further resolve the aerospace system design.
