Course Description

In this course you are given the opportunity to apply the relevant knowledge and skills acquired from previous courses to carry out an experimental investigation research project. The course offers a number of approved research projects. You will utilise the learning skills that you developed through the first 5 semesters of the program to research and review published literature in the field of your selected project, develop experimental research program, carry out experiments in the lab, discuss results and formulate conclusions. You will present the outcomes of your project in the form of a scientific research paper of similar formats to published articles and in a Poster. Throughout the course of this hands-on project you will develop experience in planning and conducting investigational/ research work; processing and interpretation of data. The projects offered as part of this course are concerned with evaluation of processes/ technologies typically used for waste management. The course context is to develop solutions to environmental problems.

- Define project goals; design an experimental program and formulate a suitable documentation scheme
