This course explores the origins and development of business strategy, selected strategic paradigms, competing or alternative theoretical frameworks and their implications.
The course focuses on different perspectives to the role of strategy in organisational success. and examines concepts, theoretical frameworks and techniques that are useful in gaining knowledge of the strategic management process, with particular emphasis on strategic inputs, strategic actions (strategy formulation, and strategy implementation) and strategic outcomes.

Course Description
You will explore the process and practice of contemporary business strategy in diverse contexts, focusing on strategic position, strategic choices, and strategy in action. Throughout the course, you will engage in a blend of interactive lectures, problem-based learning, and collaborative workshops. You will work on real-world case studies, participate in team-based projects, and use digital tools to analyse and solve strategic challenges faced by organisations today. These active, applied, and authentic learning experiences will help you develop influential strategy recommendations and build the adaptive capabilities needed for professional success.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to: 1. Evaluate and apply the key theoretical and conceptual components of contemporary strategic conditions to diverse organisation contexts including non-profit, sustainability and digital transformation. 2. Analyse, evaluate and apply strategy frameworks as tools of informed strategic thinking for real-time authentic case-study analysis 3. Effectively in teams create, evaluate, and implement strategic options through practical application of concepts and techniques 4. Explore concepts and approaches beyond the mainstream of strategic thinking through a culturally diverse lens. 5. Develop enhanced critical thinking, analytical decision-making, and communication capabilities through effective collaboration with peers. For classes beginning on or after 2 March 2026Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
1. Analyse strategy theories and concepts in diverse organisational settings (Knowledge)
2. Develop and apply adaptive strategic capabilities using strategy frameworks, real-time case studies, and scenarios (Skills).
3. Collaborate in teams to critique innovative strategic options using practical concepts and techniques.
4. Evaluate real-world business strategies using ethical decision-making in diverse organisational contexts.
5. Compose stakeholder communications articulating strategy challenges using digital adeptness
