Students must successfully complete TCHE2373 Action Research, before commencing this course.
Course Description
Students will learn how to design an action research project which will be undertaken during their early childhood professional practice placements in Year 4.This will be underpinned by understandings developed during a literature review. The project will investigate aspects of their practice they wish to change.
Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development
At the end of this course students will have an approved project plan, ready to implement during PP3 and PP4. Students will have begun a professional journal which will be continued on PP3.
Students will learn how to plan a research project using action research methodology and relevant methods. Students will experience keeping a professional journal during PP3.

Learning activities will include lectures, tutorials, readings and discussions as well as independent work.

Overview of Assessment
There will be two assessment tasks each worth 50%:
1. Research plan, 50%.
2. Professional reflective journal kept during PP3, 50%.
