Pre-requisite Courses and Assumed Knowledge and Capabilities

Nil. The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) course in the Associate Degree in Business builds on capabilities developed over the preceding courses in the associate degree.

Course Description

The goals of this course are to enable you to apply your academic learning to a business or organisational situation. You will be able to utilise the theories, concepts and tools developed in your academic studies to solve a business problem, achieve a company goal or improve a business process or system. This practical and hands-on course will provide you with the opportunity to assess, research and analyse a workplace situation and then propose recommendations and devise a plan for implementation. Provision will be made for you to receive feedback on your solution to the business problem that you have addressed. You will also be given the opportunity to reflect on your own professional and personal development.

If you are undertaking this course in Melbourne from semester 2, 2012 onwards your teacher will advise you if you require access to a computer for the course. It is recommended that you have access to a mobile computing device to allow greater flexibility in terms of where you can work on campus outside class times.
