It is assumed that students taking this course will have background knowledge in their chosen discipline at Bachelor’s degree level
Course Description
This course, with the other Science Honours Project courses, is the research project undertaken by all Science Honours students. The project, selected from the appropriate discipline area, allows students to develop skills in investigating a problem using scientific methodology. The project will be supervised by an academic research staff member and may involve direct collaboration with external bodies such as industries or government agencies.
Please note that if you take this course for a bachelor honours program, your overall mark for the course will be one of the course marks used to calculate the weighted average mark (WAM) that will determine your award level.

Overview of Learning Activities
Under the mentorship of your supervisor, you will carry out the research project planned in ONPS2317 Project Planning, integrating your knowledge and practical skills to achieve the aims of your research project. You will be expected to conduct your research, record your results, write your thesis and communicate the outcomes of your research to your peers in a professional manner.

You will have access to current literature through the Library and manuals etc. available in your research group. You will be expected to access the references on good scientific writing on the course website (accessible through MyRMIT Studies). You may contact Student Services for assistance with learning and information on a range of supports available to facilitate your academic program.
