To be eligible to enrol in this course:
1. You must have completed a minimum of 48 Credit Points as a full-time student or 24 Credit Points as a part-time student of of the MC206 program.
Course Description
The MicroNanoEngineering minor project enables you to carry out a focused piece of work under the guidance of the project supervisor. The project will be a small research investigation with impact in the fields of micro/nanoscale science and technology. The course will enable skills development in areas of micro/nanoscale science and technology through a brief literature review, experimental or simulation based research, and scientific presentation in written and oral forms.
Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development
This course and its assessment develop the following Program Learning Outcomes:
1. High levels of technical competence in the field
2. Be able to apply problem solving approaches to work challenges and make decisions using sound engineering methodologies
3. Communicate effectively across all modes: listen, speak, write and draw
On completion of this course you should be able to:
1. Perform literature review
2. Identify possible solutions and their trade-offs
3. Plan experiments or tasks to evaluate the solutions
4. Implement and test given tasks
5. Maintain detailed records and logs of all activities
