Course Description
In this course you will explore how designers work with corporate, social and public sectors. You will investigate and apply tools, methods and processes to help you align design practices with new movements in organisational strategy.
You will examine how design contributes to the envisioning, communication, execution and innovation of strategy.
Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development
You will be assessed on your development against the following program learning outcomes:
- Professionally communicate propositions, processes and outcomes to address specialist and non-specialist audiences.
- Provide leadership within your discipline as well as collaborate with others.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Articulate and apply extensive knowledge of how design supports strategic activities in organisations.
- Apply established theories and concepts from fields related to organisational strategy to the practice of design.
- Synthesise complex information to inform strategic design decisions and evaluate their efficacy.

You will be actively engaged in learning that involves a range of online activities such as studios, project work, lectures, tutorials, discussion, individual and group activities.

You will be assessed on how well you meet the course learning outcomes and on your development against the program learning outcomes. Assessment may include presentations, projects and may be done individually and in teams.
