Course Description
In this course you will use single and multiple cameras in a studio environment in order to realise wider storytelling opportunities. You will learn the dynamic spatial relationship between cameras, subjects and lighting in order to lead the audience’s engagement with subject, dialogue, action and scene. You will plan, execute and evaluate a complex scenario that reflects current industry practice for digital film and video projects.

Program Learning Outcomes
In the course you will develop the following program learning outcomes:
PLO3: Develop narratives and screenplays and achieve storytelling outcomes for digital film and video
PLO4: Select and use contemporary tools, methods and approaches to envision, develop and produce digital film and video work
PLO5: Communicate with a range of stakeholders to plan, organise, execute and evaluate team-based and self-managed digital film and video projects
PLO6: Apply critical and creative thinking skills and use self-reflection to develop ethical and professional capabilities
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course you will be able to:
- Configure cameras and studio spaces for multiple camerawork.
- Plan and execute multiple camera shoots in a studio environment and reflect on outcomes.
- Demonstrate technical competence in the planning and execution of projects involving multiple cameras, subjects and lighting.
Overview of Learning Activities
In this course you will engage in studio-based work to acquire and apply camera and lighting techniques to support specific episodic content production outcomes (see co-requisite). This will involve demonstrated use of relevant technologies and application of technique in guided exercises and tasks relevant to the co-requisite course.
Overview of Learning Resources
You will have access to technical resources such as camera, lighting, sound recording equipment and editing tools, as well as studio-based learning spaces. You will be provided with diverse learning and teaching resources, including web-based resources, library collections, and online learning content. You will also be provided with a range of educational support services, including peer-led academic mentoring, tutorials, and internship and mobility support services.

You will be assessed on how well you meet the course’s learning outcomes and on your development against the program learning outcomes.
Assessment Tasks
Test scenarios - 30%. Addresses CLOs 1,3.
Complex scenario - 40%. Addresses CLOs 2,3.
Critical reflection and analysis - 30%. Addresses CLO 2.
