Course Description
This course provides you with a foundational understanding of consumer behaviour and the influences of market forces and consumer trends. This knowledge will assist you to develop successful retail, marketing, brand and product strategies that are relevant for the fashion industry. You will identify key issues, collect primary and secondary data and conduct critical analysis leading to speculative scenarios. You will develop evidence-based research report writing and communication skills.

Program Learning Outcomes
In this course you will develop the following program learning outcomes:
PLO1: Critically review, analyse and evaluate theory and industry knowledge relevant for fashion enterprise in the global fashion business environment.
PLO2: Apply a range of creative and commercial skills to successfully practice in a range of roles in the field of fashion enterprise.
PLO3: Demonstrate creativity, critical thinking and innovation to identify and solve problems in diverse contexts within the field of fashion enterprise.
PLO4: Communicate using a range of formats and strategies to diverse audiences within and external to the fashion enterprise field.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
CLO 1: Evaluate and apply different models of consumer behaviour theory and practice to fashion enterprise strategies
CLO 2: Research and analyse fashion market segments and consumer profiles.
CLO 3: Demonstrate critical thinking and innovation for fashion enterprise solutions.
CLO 4: Demonstrate effective research, analysis and data reporting skills, applying different methodologies to suit diverse audiences.
Overview of Learning Activities
Your learning will be facilitated via a range of in-class and online activities that will require both individual and collaborative engagement. Class activities promote your ability to enquire, investigate, analyse and solve fashion business problems. In this course, you will be undertaking an independent fashion Industry research project.

Assessment Tasks:
Assessment Task 1: Brand & Consumer Visual Inquiry, 20% CLO 2 & CLO 4
Assessment Task 2: Market Segment Report and Presentation, 30% CLO 1, CLO 2 & CLO 4
Assessment Task 3: Brand Enterprise Proposal, 50% CLO 1, CLO 2, CLO 3 & CLO 4
