Course Description

In this course you will develop fashion writing and visual communication skills including photography for persuasive fashion communication. You will work collaboratively to develop campaigns relevant to fashion marketing, media, digital marketing & online retail.

Program Learning Outcomes 

In this course you will develop the following program learning outcomes:

PLO2: Apply a range of creative and commercial skills to successfully practice in a range of roles in the field of fashion enterprise.

PLO3: Demonstrate creativity, critical thinking and innovation to identify and solve problems in diverse contexts within the field of fashion enterprise.

PLO5: Work with others in a range of roles and contexts, demonstrating cultural, environmental and social awareness through ethical and reflective practice.


Course Learning Outcomes 

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

CLO 1: Apply a range of skills in creative writing for fashion marketing and digital campaigns. 

CLO 2: Demonstrate creativity and innovation in developing visual communication for fashion enterprises.

CLO 3: Communicate through photography to diverse audiences in digital and print media.

CLO 4: Apply judgement in planning, problem solving and decision making in the practice of creative writing and visual communication. 

CLO 5: Work collaboratively to develop fashion communication campaigns.


Overview of Learning Activities

Your learning will be facilitated via a range of in-class and online activities that will require both individual and collaborative engagement. Class activities promote your ability to enquire, investigate, analyse and solve fashion business problems.

You will be assessed on how well you meet the course learning outcomes and on your development against the program learning outcomes. 

Feedback will be given on all assessment tasks.

Assessment tasks are directly aligned with each Course Learning Outcome. They are as follows:

Assessment Task 1: Photographic Essay (30%)

Assessment Task 2: Group Presentation (20%)

Assessment Task 3: Creative communication Portfolio (50%)
CLOs: 1, 3 & 4
