Pre-requisite Courses and Assumed Knowledge and Capabilities
This course requires you to work individually and collaboratively as a group to explore and produce propositions for what a fashion show could be. You will advance your skills in developing the creative direction and management of fashion shows and events.
You will learn to brief, manage and direct collaborations with peers and industry specialists. In addition, this course includes a learning experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry and/ or community is integral to your experience.

As this is a program option course, only Course Learning Outcomes are applicable.
Course Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
CLO1: Work effectively and efficiently both individually and in a team in managing and directing a project.
CLO2: Apply creative direction and management skills in working with peers and industry collaborators.
CLO3: Plan and produce a fashion presentation.
CLO4: Advance your fashion show design techniques and thinking to produce and present a fashion presentation to an external panel.
Overview of Learning Activities
Your learning will be facilitated via a range of in-class and online activities that will require both individual and collaborative engagement. Class activities promote your ability to explore, design, investigate, analyse and understand fashion practice and strategies for its public communication.
You will work with industry practitioners and specialists to learn and unpack approaches for the design and production of the fashion show. You will refine your professional communication skills in preparing creative and organisational briefs to work with your peers, external collaborators and professional parties to develop a fashion show/ event.
You will work individually and within a team to produce a suite of fashion show concepts. You will allocate roles in the team as well as cover all areas of professional practice such as development of briefs, mood boards, styling, casting and location sourcing. This will include research and references, timeline/plan, a summary statement, and any other relevant planning that you can put into action to realise your direction for your show. This will help you develop briefs for planning for a fashion show in industry contexts.

You will be assessed on how well you meet the courses learning outcomes and on your development against the program learning outcomes.
Assessment tasks are directly aligned with each Course Learning Outcome. They are as follows:
