Course Description
In this course you will learn creative strategies and apply design thinking processes to support your exploration of your career. You will learn about the various social, technological and environmental changes impacting work, careers and the labour market and develop lifelong learning skills including job search strategies that will enable you to develop a career plan. Students from any discipline can enrol in this course.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successfully completing this course you will be able to:
- Research the labour market and identify future trends in work
- Apply job search strategies and develop an entrepreneurial mindset, this includes creating a career plan to identify current skill gaps.
- Apply design thinking principles to investigate and build future scenarios for work and life.
- Undertake effective research and networking in relation to making decisions about your future career.

- Engagement in learning activities involving small group discussions and individual reflections
- Self-directed research linked to assessment tasks
- Conduct self-assessment activities linked to assessment tasks
- Working with an industry mentor

You will be assessed on how well you meet the course’s learning outcomes and on your development against the program learning outcomes.

Career Design Thinking Plan, 40%, CLO1, CLO 2, CLO 3 and CLO 4
Assessment Task 2:
Analysis of the Future World of Work - Group presentation, 20%, CLO 1
Assessment Task 3: Career Informational Interview Evaluation and Reflection, 40%, CLO 1, CLO 2, CLO 3 and CLO 4
Final statement: Feedback will be given on all assessment tasks.
