Course Description
In the course you will explore a range of approaches to media production research and ethical media practice. You will analyse the implications of integrating research into your professional media context.
You will develop your expertise in contemporary issues within media for application in the creation of context-specific proposals for research projects.

Program Learning Outcomes
In this course you will develop the following program learning outcomes:
- Critically analyse, synthesise and reflect on complex theories and recent developments, both local and international, to extend and challenge knowledge and practice in contemporary media production.
- Use appropriate research methods to design and execute substantial projects, evaluate the outcomes and theorise about the contribution of your learning to the profession and knowledge area.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Identify research aims and potential research contributions of your developing screen or media practice.
- Critically analyse and discuss the literature and major works related to contemporary practice in screen and media.
- Select and justify the use of appropriate research methodologies and methods for specific screen or media production contexts.
- Develop research proposals aligned to your area of expertise in media production.

You will be engaged in learning that involves a range of activities both face-to-face and/or online such as workshops, tutorials, group and class discussion, class activities and individual research.
