Contact your course coordinator if you think you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning.

Course Description

In this course, you will practically apply the knowledge and skills gained through the program and create meaningful connections for your professional future as you experience learning in an industry environment. With the support of your lecturer and class resources, you will further develop your portfolio while you gain an understanding of industry dynamics and perspectives.

This is a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) course in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real workplace context and where feedback from industry and/ or community is integral to your experience.

In conjunction with your prospective employer/mentor, you will develop a training plan with clearly defined objectives and outcomes. If you are currently employed, you must seek an internship outside of your workplace. Internships may or may not be financially compensated: your employer/mentor is under no obligation to do so.

You are required to research and locate a potential internship in a suitable WIL environment prior to the commencement of this course.

You are encouraged to seek the support of RMIT Careers and advice from your lecturer.

Industry Internship Requirements

An agreement including schedule and relevant insurance documentation is required to be completed before commencing each internship (local and international). International internships must be registered and processed through RMIT Global Mobility (Melbourne) / RMIT Career Development and Employment (Vietnam).
In the case where a placement ends early, please refer to Changes or cancellation of WIL activities in the WIL Guideline.

The internship period will last at least twelve 12 weeks, and no more than 13.

Your lecturer will grade and assess your learning through the assignments dedicated to that effect and shall receive written and oral feedback from your industry mentor.

You will be actively engaged in a range of learning activities such as lectures, tutorials, seminars, project work, class discussion, individual and group activities. Delivery may be face to face, online or a mix of both.
