Course Description

This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to install and test ducting systems used for ventilation systems, heating and/or cooling systems, and exhaust systems.

In some jurisdictions, this unit of competency may form part of accreditation, licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements.

Overview of Assessment

Assessment may incorporate a variety of methods including written/oral activities and demonstration of practical skills to the relevant industry standards. Participants are advised that they are likely to be asked to personally demonstrate their assessment activities to their teacher/assessor. Feedback will be provided throughout the course.


Assessment Tasks

Theory Assessment 1 - Students are required to complete written worksheets from "Red" Mechanical Services Manual/ANTA Guide and under pinning questions and SWMS from workbook. 30% weighting.


Practical Assessment 2 - Successful installation of correct installation and testing of duct systems as identified in student workbook. 70% weighting.
