Course Description

In this course you will learn the skills and knowledge required to work respectfully with people from diverse social and cultural groups and situations, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

Teaching Schedule

While all course content  will be covered, the session may change depending on class needs and availability of teachers, speakers and resources.  

This class has been designed for students to undertake self managed learning on campus. The session is scheduled in Phase 3/ Day 4. 

Students will be provided guidance to the session by the teacher and then supervised while accessing online resources and completing online interactive activities. Class discussions will be encouraged.

Overview of Assessment

Assessment for this course is ongoing throughout the semester. Your knowledge and understanding of course content is assessed through participation in class exercises, oral presentations, and through the application of learned skills and insights to your written tasks. Assessment Tasks

Students enrolled in Vocational Education and Training qualifications are assessed for Competency. To be assessed as Competent means you have consistently demonstrated the required knowledge and skills at a standard expected in the workplace.   

To be assessed as Competent in this course, you will need to complete each assessment task to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback from the teacher at the conclusion of each assessment task.

  AT1 Knowledge Assessment 

  • is a knowledge-based assessment and involves demonstration of working with diverse people
