Course Description
In this course you will learn the skills and knowledge required for workers to participate in safe work practices to ensure their own health and safety, and that of others.

Overview of Assessment
Assessment for this course is ongoing throughout the semester. Your knowledge and understanding of course content is assessed through participation in class exercises, oral presentations, and through the application of learned skills and insights to your written tasks. Full assessment briefs will be provided and can be found on CANVAS.
Assessment Tasks
Students enrolled in Vocational Education and Training qualifications are assessed for Competency. To be assessed as Competent means you have consistently demonstrated the required knowledge and skills at a standard expected in the workplace.
To be assessed as Competent in this course, you will need to complete each assessment task to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback from the teacher at the conclusion of each assessment task.
You should refer to the assessment brief which is available through Canvas for full assessment criteria
Assessment Task 1: Knowledge Assessment
- This knowledge assessment requires you to demonstrate knowledge of the sterilising processes including equipment maintenance and performance test in your own work practices.
- Feedback provided on Canvas via Grade Centre and discussed verbally if required.
Assessment Task 2: WHS Audit Practical Assessment: Students must attend
- In this practical assessment you will demonstrate your knowledge and skill in the identification and management of hazards and risks in the simulated RMIT Dental Clinic.
- Feedback provided on Canvas via Grade Centre and discussed verbally if required.
Assessment Task 3: Simulated Emergency Procedure Students must attend
- In this practical assessment you will demonstrate your knowledge and skill in the management of a simulated Emergency Procedure
in the simulated RMIT Dental Clinic. - Feedback provided on Canvas via Grade Centre and discussed verbally if required.
