This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to research and understand a nominated site in order to plan for work for that site.

Learning Outcomes
Details of Learning Activities
This Unit is integrated within the activities of the CONCEPT Unit.
Both Physical and Non-Physical SITES will ne engaged with eg. the Online environment will be posited as a SITE.
Site analysis will take place via various methods of recording. Works produced will range spontaneous, single session ’response’, to more planned and deliberate Construction and Action.
Various media will be used to Document, including Photographic, Video, Mark Making, Screen Grabs, Dialogue recodings in text and audio, Collection of materials from Site, and so on.
The student will be encouraged to engage with unfamiliar sites and to learn methods that allow a site’s potential to be realised and exploited.

Overview of Assessment
1 x major project
Students will be tutored with a verbal and/or written evaluation of their progress, within class time.
A final assessment of Competency Achieved or Not Yet Competent will be given at the end of the course when students will submit all completed work.
To be deemed competent students must satisfactorily complete all Learning Elements and related Performance Criteria.
Grading will be offered in addition to, and after, competency based assessment.
Assessment Tasks
One Major Project that is integrated with the CONCEPT Unit will be Assessed.
Smaller elements of Practice, including Collaboration, will take place and be embedded within this single project.
The total Assessable elements of the Major Project will be detailed in the Project brief.

Attendance
The major learning experience involves studio based exercises, demonstration and production. It is strongly advised that students attend all sessions in order to engage in the required learning activities, ensuring the maximum opportunity to gain the competency.

All assessment tasks are required to be completed to a satisfactory level. If you are unable to complete any piece of assessment by the due date, you will need to apply for an extension.
