Learning Outcomes
In this unit students will develop knowledge and skills associated with communication to identify and determine work requirements and to communicate effectively with others. Self management skills, problem solving, initiative and enterprise and planning and organisation are all required in taking responsibility for work outcomes and an ability to access learning opportunities to expand own skills.
Details of Learning Activities
The course is integrated with LMTFP4002B Custom made Footwear Patterns, LMTFP4003B Prepare, cut and sew custom-made shoe components, LMTFP4004B Assemble custom made Shoe, LMTFP4005B Fit Custom made footwear LMTFP2010B Repair Footwear Product and LMTGN2004B Work in a Team Environment to form a cluster or learning program in the total development of a pair of custom-made shoes for a client (in this case client must be another class member to ensure that the correct shoe last is available and client is available for fittings as required throughout the program).
Integrated learning consisting of theory and practical components relating to organising your own work in the context of making footwear. Work is carried out in practical workshops, in a simulated workplace environment, to enhance the development of the skills and knowledge required to develop custom-made footwear product.
Teaching Schedule
Work to be conducted in footwear workroom where students produce made-to-measure custom made shoes for a client.
• Students to develop strategies and negotiate appropriate schedules. Organising own work within the Workroom.
• Negotiating use of machine time and work bench space. Negotiating schedule for use of specialised machinery.
• Students to plan and organise their own work to ensure that it meets the required deadlines for submission of work while working within the constraints of the schedules of use of machines and equipment by all students in the group.

Overview of Assessment
Tasks that have not be authenticated in class as the student’s own work will not be considered for assessment. Regular attendance is necessary. Assessment will consist of both theory and practical based exercises, predominantly in class but some out of class research and information formatting is required as well.

- Meeting time lines as required for production of custom-made footwear for a client integrated project.
- Submission of Diary highlighting meetings, outcomes and concepts with customer, suppliers or 3rd party providers.
