Course Description
In this course you will be required to source, apply and update a general knowledge of the photo imaging industry, including industry structure and operation, employment obligations and you will also be required to consider the impact of new technology.
This course includes a work integrated learning experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry is integral to your experience.

To demonstrate competency in this course, you will need to complete each one of the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback on all assessments and a grade for the summative assessments.

01.Branding Exercise: Create a Bio/Artist Statement that defines your photographic practise. Present your statement to the class.

Research and present two current photographic competitions open to enter

Summative 01: Networking Plan
Answer the following question:
What area(s) of the photographic industry are you interested in pursuing and how will you establish effective contacts in this area (over the next 18 months)?
You will present your Networking Plan to the class as a 5-minute oral presentation and PowerPoint presentation.
Consider the following:
-Suitable professional associations
-Use of social media
-Relevant competitions/grants
-Networking opportunities
-Relevant work experience
You should incorporate real evidence of your work, networking progress and work experience where available.
