Course Description
The ability to undertake preventative and routine maintenance to equipment is a skill which is highly valued by employers in the live event industry. In this course you will
learn the skills and knowledge required to undertake basic repairs to and maintain vision systems (audiovisual equipment) used in the live event industry.

Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this course you will have developed and applied the skills and knowledge required to demonstrate competency in the above elements. Through the application of these skills and this knowledge, you will be able to undertake basic preventative and routine maintenance to equipment, recognise typical faults and solder AV components and connectors.
Details of Learning Activities
Out of-class self-directed learner activities for this course include but are not limited to: additional equipment practice sessions, private research at selected sound equipment websites and revision of notes to reinforce classroom content. These activities will be monitored during class through question/answer sessions.

Assessment Task #1 -Vision Systems Soldering and Construction Projects
To satisfactorily complete this assessment task, each student will construct all the following Vision Systems Soldering and Construction Projects in order:
Project 1. Champ Audio Amplifier
Project 2. Phantom Power Tester
Project 3. XLR – XLR audio Lead construction
Project 4. 6.5 mm TRS to 6.5 mm TRS audio Lead construction
Due: Class 6
Assessment Task #2 -Vision Systems Construction Project Testing and Repair
To satisfactorily complete this assessment task, each student will test and repair as required all of the following Vision Systems Soldering and Construction Projects in order:
Project 1. Champ Audio Amplifier
Project 2. Phantom Power Tester
Project 3. XLR – XLR audio Lead construction
Project 4. 6.5 mm TRS to 6.5 mm TRS audio Lead construction
Due: Class 11
You will receive feedback from the teacher at the conclusion of the assessment task.
