Course Description
This course describes the skills and knowledge required to implement and monitor work health and safety (WHS) policies, procedures and work practices as part of a small work team.
This course applies to workers who have a key role in maintaining WHS in an organisation, including duty of care for other workers.

Details of Learning Activities
Classes are delivered face to face. During face to face classes information is shared through talks and discussions, and workshops where exercises are conducted to apply learning. Time is spent during these classes for students to work on group and individual assessment tasks.
In your own time, you will be expected to keep up-to-date with the readings and videos that will be made available to you on Canvas. The classes, readings and videos will prepare you to be able to complete your course assessments.

Assessment Tasks
Assessment Task 1 - Perform a workplace risk assessment
Students perform a workplace risk assessment where they identify hazards, associated risk and then devise control measures to reduce risk.
Assessment Task 2 - Presentation Information session Workplace Health and Safety
Students will be required to present workplace health and safety information to other students.
Assessment Task 3 - Incident report
In this assessment students follow Work Health and Safety workplace policies and procedures in responding to a workplace incident and completing an incident form.
Assessment Task 4 - Emergency evacuation
Student will be required to follow emergency evacuation procedures and demonstrate an emergency evacuation
Assessment Task 5 - Short Answer Questions
Students are required to provide responses to knowledge-based questions
